Menopause care at Walton Street Wellness offers a personalised, medical approach to managing menopause and perimenopause.
We focus on understanding your symptoms in the context of your overall health, including lifestyle, metabolic and hormonal factors, to support long-term wellbeing.
Menopause and perimenopause can affect many aspects of your health, including energy, mood, sleep, weight and overall wellbeing. These changes are often driven by shifting hormone levels, but are also influenced by lifestyle, metabolic health and wider factors.
At Walton Street Wellness, our approach focuses on understanding how these areas interact with your current health, rather than looking at symptoms in isolation. This allows us to build a clearer picture of what may be contributing to how you feel.
Consultations are guided by a personalised and evidence-based approach, with time to explore your medical history, symptoms and lifestyle in detail. Where appropriate, additional investigations such as blood testing may be recommended to provide further insight into hormonal balance, metabolic health or nutritional status.
Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, we develop tailored strategies designed to support both short-term symptom relief and long-term health. This may include lifestyle medicine approaches such as nutrition, sleep, stress management and physical activity, alongside medical treatment where appropriate.
Ongoing support and follow-up are an important part of care, allowing your plan to be adjusted over time and ensuring your treatment remains aligned with your goals and how your symptoms evolve.
Consultations may be carried out by Kat Cane, Independent Nurse Prescriber, or Dr Ellen Fallows, GP, depending on availability and your preference.
- What is perimenopause?
- Do I need hormone replacement therapy (HRT)?
- Can lifestyle changes really help menopause symptoms?
- How quickly will I feel better?
Perimenopause is the stage leading up to menopause, when hormone levels begin to fluctuate. This can cause a range of symptoms such as irregular periods, mood changes, sleep disturbance and fatigue. It can start several years before menopause and vary significantly between individuals.
HRT can be an effective treatment for some women, particularly for managing symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats and sleep disturbance. However, it is not always necessary or suitable for everyone. During your consultation, we will discuss your symptoms, medical history and preferences to determine the most appropriate approach for you.
Lifestyle factors such as nutrition, sleep, stress and physical activity can have a significant impact on symptoms and overall wellbeing. Addressing these areas can help support hormonal balance, improve energy levels and reduce the severity of symptoms. This approach also supports long-term health beyond menopause.
This varies depending on your symptoms and the approach taken. Some improvements may be noticed within a few weeks, while others take longer to build over time. Ongoing support and follow-up allow your plan to be adjusted to ensure the best possible outcomes.
