Chemical peels are a minimally invasive way to significantly improve the appearance of skin. They can diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, discolouration, uneven skin tone, breakouts and sun damage. The peel action removes damaged and dead skin, resulting in smoother and plumper skin.

A chemical peel is a solution applied during an in-clinic treatment which works to remove dead skin cells. This highly effective exfoliation stimulates the production of new, healthy skin cells, resulting in smoother and brighter skin.
The treatment typically takes around 25 minutes, and in the days following, you may experience some dryness and flaking as the dead skin peels away. After about 7 days, your skin will have shed all the dead skin, and you will notice a beautifully glowing complexion. As with all things, a consistent skincare routine and maintenance sessions help to enhance and prolong these results.
Your skin will be cleansed and assessed and we will discuss your goals and come up with a treatment plan, which is totally bespoke and hypercustomised to your skin needs on the day and helping you get the best from your session.
If you are having a course or have had peels before, we are able to add extra layers of peel or special serums to enhance your treatment.
Despite the name, chemical peels, particularly AlumierMD peels, do not cause significant discomfort. You might experience some tingling sensation at most. Chemical peels are suitable for those with sensitive skin as well, and they provide quick and effective results.
We will always prepare you for treatment before you come in by having a consultation with you first and sending information and pre treatment questionnaires to you before your appointment. You will need to avoid sun exposure and stop certain skincare, such as active ingredients like retinol and salicylic acid.
After treatment, we will provide you with an aftercare kit that includes skincare miniatures. This kit includes a gentle cleanser to cleanse the post-peel dry skin, a recovery balm for soothing and hydration, and a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 40 to protect your skin from UV rays. It is important to avoid picking at flaky skin and to refrain from using at-home exfoliants for at least 5 days post-peel. Daily use of sunscreen is imperative as the skin will be more sensitive to the sun’s rays.
