To find out how to get you out of pain as effectively as possible, we take a case history including where the pain is, what brought it on and what makes it better and worse.

We take your medical history (such as any prior injuries , any medication you may be on, any medical conditions you may have) and then we do a postural and physical assessment including any special orthopaedic tests necessary.

We develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan then proceed with revelant treatment to reduce pain, improve posture.

Working together in a partnership, we observe how you respond to treatment over the following days and adjust the levels, intensity and types of treatment, accordingly.

While we work towards getting you out of pain and moving better, each treatment is responsive to how you are on the day, so may vary depending on you are.

We generally work towards the initial treatment plan of relieving the underlying causes of your pain, providing pain relief and improving movement patterns in each session.

Your session might include mobilisation and manipulation, postural work, soft tissue work, dry needling, kinesiotape, work with a Class 4 laser, stretches, exercises, or sports/activity specific drills.

It depends on you and your conditions. Some issues can be resolved in a session or two and other more long term conditions may take more. We will discuss your needs and what to expect further on your first appointment.

It is normal for the areas treated to feel a bit worked on for a few days after the treatment. Occasionally as your body adjusts to your new ranges of motion and ways of moving, things can feel a bit sore. You may possibly have headaches or tiredness after treatment but this generally resolves quite quickly. Some long-term or chronic issues can have stronger reactions, but we will discuss this at the time of treatment.

Most people feel less pain, have easier movement and have an improved understanding of how their body works after treatment though!

Please wear or bring loose comfortable clothing to your appointment. You may find it useful to bring a lists of medication you may be on, medical imaging you have had done or other relevant material to the initial appointment.
