Polynucleotide skin rejuvenation

Are you seeking a cutting-edge, non-surgical solution to rejuvenate and revitalise your skin? Let us introduce you to Polynucleotide treatments, the latest breakthrough in injectable treatments offered by FaceOxford at Walton Street Wellness.

This treatment is great for many concerns, but in particular it is an amazing option for the under eye area, which has always been a tricky concern to treat.

Polynucleotides, also known as PNs, are biodegradable synthetic molecules that mimic the structure of DNA. PNs have gained huge popularity recently in aesthetics for their exceptional regenerative capabilities.

When injected into the skin, Polynucleotides stimulate collagen production, enhance tissue repair, and promote overall skin rejuvenation. They help to promote tissue regeneration and restore skin tone and elasticity.  They offer antioxidant and hydrating benefits, alongside bio-remodelling effects, which result in healthier and more youthful-looking skin.

Polynucleotides skin aesthetics treatment

During a Polynucleotide treatment, our Nurse Kat, will carefully administer the solution through a series of micro-injections into the target area. The Polynucleotides penetrate deep into the skin, activating cellular regeneration and promoting the production of new collagen fibres. This process helps to improve skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, increases skin hydration and enhances overall skin texture and tone.

Before your treatment appointment, Kat will conduct a thorough consultation and assessment of your skin and discuss your desired outcomes. If you decide to go ahead, you will book a second appointment for treatment. A topical numbing cream is applied to ensure your comfort during the procedure. The skin is then thoroughly cleansed and prepared. The PN solution is carefully injected into the target area using a fine needle or cannula.

The treatment duration may vary depending on the areas being treated, but typically, a session lasts between 30-60 minutes. After the treatment, you may experience some mild redness or swelling, which should subside within a few hours or days.

Polynucleotide injections are generally well-tolerated with minimal side effects. Some common side effects may include temporary redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites. These effects typically resolve within a few days, but please do not book any special events within two weeks of an under eye treatment as these in particular can bruise.

Before undergoing a Polynucleotide treatment, it is important to let us know about any relevant medical history or medications you are currently taking.

Other tips to follow before any injectable treatment are:

  • Avoid blood thinners such as aspirin and ibuprofen for at least 48 hours before your treatment. Please never stop any prescribed medications that you have been given from your Doctor, do let us know if this applies to you.
  • Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your treatment.
  • Make sure your skin is clean and free of makeup on the day of your treatment.

You will be given detailed aftercare instructions, which may include:

  • Avoid touching the treated areas for at least six hours.
  • Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours.
  • Avoid alcohol, aspirin and ibuprofen for at least 24 hours.
  • Follow any additional aftercare instructions provided in your aftercare information.
